During these uncertain times during the pandemic, we know that many are in need of or would appreciate support. Here are some community organizations and easy-to-access resources that are able help you and your family.
Food Assistance:
Manna Food Center: Manna Food Center’s goal is to end hunger and is helping to support families by distributing food. Please take a closer look at the days, times, and places that Manna is providing bags and how you should pick up your food.
Women Who Care Ministries: Women Who Care Ministries (WWCM) have a long-standing partnership with MCPS in providing meals to low-income families during the weekends. Please click on the link for the dates, time, and sites that WWCM is distributing food sacks.
Produce and Homemade Products for Delivery: Here are some vendors that are allowing pick-up and delivery of their products. Please check with each vendor to know where they can deliver their products.
Relief:
Adventist Community Services of Greater Washington: ACSGW is a non-profit, faith-based organization that is ready to help the community through any disaster. If you need any assistance, please contact them so they can determine your needs.
American Red Cross- National Capital Region: The American Red Cross actively provides disaster relief. During the pandemic, they are helping people through actions such as providing food, blood donations, and virtual care to those who have lost loved ones.
Bethesda United Methodist Church: BUMC strives to make a difference in the lives of everyone they meet. Their mission is to carry out acts of service with Christ-like modesty and love everyday.

Mental Health and Wellness:
We know outbreaks are stressful, so here are some resources and information to help you and your family cope with and reduce stress.
Every Mind: EveryMind is ready to listen to you and strives for everyone in the community to reach optimal mental health. You don’t have to face moments of crisis alone; EveryMind is just one call, text, or chat away.
CDC- Stress and Coping: The CDC is providing resources and tips to deal with stress caused by the outbreak. Keep in mind that your mental health is just as important as your physical health.
SAMHSA- Disaster Distress Helpline: SAMHSA’s helpline is active for 24 hours a day, everyday of the year. This free, multilingual, and confidential hotline provides counseling and support to those who are feeling distressed. Remember, it is absolutely okay to feel what you feel during these times and there is no right way to react to this outbreak.
